The sooner governments understand that entrepreneurialism is the only way to really create wealth and jobs, the sooner you’ll get to enjoy innovations.
Over the past few days the mainstream press has gone into overdrive calling for US gun control and wondering why on earth anyone would want to own a gun. And odds are you may think the same thing. But before you cast judgement, you should read what I have to say…
Folks, if you want to see how the state collapses in the future, this is the direction to look. It won’t happen through politics. It won’t happen by top-down reform. It won’t happen even through seminars. It will happen through the trial and error of entrepreneurship, because the market will not sit still.
I’m not smart enough to know exactly what the State will do and when it will do it. But I do know the broad trend — that the State is determined to increase its power at a cost to individual freedom.
Child Protective Services, a tank, a SWAT team, a mother, and a 10 hour siege. Nope, the story doesn’t end there. It gets worse. Controversial anti-psychotic drugs, a 13 year old girl, sexual assault under state care at a paediatric psychiatric facility, rubber-stamping a judge’s signature, and constitutional law. Nope, the story isn’t finished. Just when you thought it had a happy ending, you find out about the sexually transmitted infection (STI).

‘Ty Houston, 48, a home care registered nurse, was toiling on his absentee ballot Monday afternoon when things got strange at township offices on 13 Mile. ‘“I was filling out the form as were an elderly couple sitting at a nearby table,” said Houston on Tuesday. “His wife, who was helping him fill out the ballot, asked him a couple of questions but he didn’t respond. She screamed for help and I went over to see what I could do.” ‘Houston laid the victim on the floor and went to work.
It’s funny how people react to other people. You love your football team. You hate all other football teams. You love one TV show. You hate another TV show. And if you’re into this sort of thing, you love one political party and hate the other. But it doesn’t end there. If you believe the mainstream press, Aussie police are smart and clever, whereas Syria’s police are like Stalin’s Soviet Union or Idi Amin’s Uganda. Love the Aussie police. Hate the Syrian police.
[Ed Note: This is an extract from the book, Family Fortunes: How to Build Family Wealth and Hold on to it for 100 Years] Over the door of the farmhouse we built as soon as we had enough money to build a proper house, we chiselled the words of Virgil: “Hic domus, haec patria est.” Roughly translated: This is our home; this is our country. But when you say it, you have to put the emphasis on the second “THIS”. Then it makes sense. “This is our home” is a statement of fact. “THIS is our country” is practically treason.
